Time Sensitive: workshops to wrap up your year

I’ve decided to create a new segment for my blog, called Time Sensitive, which will be my take on a ‘what’s on’. This might look like local events here in Glasgow (maybe further afield), or online offerings. There are so many fantastic things going on in Scotland, as well as lots of creative and interesting things in the digital world. But it can take time to do the research, which is where I come in!

Let me help you save time by sharing my recommendations!

The power of reflection

I’m a massive fan of reflection; it’s such an under-utilised tool. I think I’ve shared about Susannah Conway on my blog before, if not, then let me tell you about Susannah’s annual (free) workbooks: “Unravel your year” and “Find your word 2025”. Each year, Susannah creates two beautiful workbooks that she generously gives to her audience for free. The first is designed to facilitate a reflection of the year past. “Filled with questions, prompts, monthly reflection pages and so much more, it'll help you take stock of 2024 and prepare for a new ride around the sun.” Find your word workbook takes readers through a 5-day process to finding your word (or words) for 2025. I’ve written previously about my word for the year in this article.

Susannah is running two live workshops this year, on Saturday 21st December and Sunday 29th December; both are taking place at 5pm UK. In the solstice workshop on the 21st, she will guide the group through a series of journaling prompts to reflect on 2024 and close out the year with gentleness and gratitude. One week later, between Christmas and NYE, gather again to identify your guiding word, words or phrase for 2025. Purchase both workshops for £60 or individually for £33. Recordings will be available.

Root and Gather: a half day retreat

If you’d prefer to gather in person to reflect on the year then Root and Gather NYE Edition is taking place at The Wee Retreat in Glasgow’s Southside on Tuesday 31st December, 10am - 1pm.

“Join Emma and Gillian as we leave 2024 behind us we gather in community to revisit the year gone past, reflect on the lessons learned and the growth we have experienced. Together, we’ll explore yoga asana, pranayama, chanting, meditation, and yoga nidra. We will align with our deepest intentions for the New Year and find guidance through journaling and conversation. This mini retreat is designed to prepare you for a rejuvenating New Year and to share space and time with like-minded individuals. Our time together will include sharing cacao and enjoying a nourishing homemade soup.”

I’ve been to a previous retreat with Emma, and it was really special.

Tickets are £65.

Manifestation meditation

I absolutely love Kirsty Raynor’s meditations. She has the most beautiful voice (if you’ve not experienced Kirsty’s work before, head on over to her podcast Mindset & Me and have a listen to her Mini Medi episodes; here on Spotify).

Kirsty has scheduled a Manifestation Meditation for New Year’s Day at 9pm UK-time, and I can’t wait to start off 2025 in this way. My ticket is booked, and I’m already planning a relaxed evening of reading in bed with a cup of tea, maybe some journaling before dialling into this very special Zoom call!

Get ready to manifest your dream life!

Tickets are £25, which you can purchase for yourself or there is also a digital gift card available if you’d like to give this as a Christmas present. A recording will also be made available.

Let me know in the comments what you think of this new segment!
